President William Ruto on Wednesday received credentials from five new ambassadors and a high commissioner at State House, Nairobi.
This event was particularly notable as it marked the first time the Kenya Defence Forces were involved in the ceremony, highlighting its elevated importance and the commitment to formal diplomatic traditions.
“The presentation of credentials marked the first time the Kenya Defence Forces were involved in the ceremony,” stated the President.
The credentials were presented by the five Ambassadors from different countries across the world.
“They were Ambassadors Anouar Ben Youssef (Tunisia), Patricio Alberto Aguirre Vacchieri (Chile), Luis Alejandro Levit (Argentina) and Romy Sonia Tincopa Grados (Peru),” he added.
The new ambassadors expressed their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties with Kenya, aiming to enhance cooperation and mutual benefit for their respective people.
After each Ambassador presented their credentials to President Ruto, the national anthems were played, and the flags of their respective countries were hoisted.
Previously presentation of credentials was held indoors. The event has now evolved to be an important State Ceremony for the head of state in member’s states for Commonwealth, marked by its formality and importance.
Ambassadors are officially recognized as their country’s representatives only after this ceremony is conducted.
Kenya is keen on strengthening business relations with all nations in the world for posterity.
“Kenya is committed to enhancing ties with nations with shared interests. We are particularly keen on attracting new and quality investments, expanding lucrative markets for our products and broadening economic opportunities for our youth,” Dr. Ruto stated.
Others were Sabit Subasic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ambassador Joan Thomas Edwards, High Commissioner of Jamaica.
