President Ruto has appointed new Principal Secretaries, re-assigned others and nominated new Ambassadors, Consuls-General and Deputy Heads of Mission in Kenya’s foreign missions abroad.
The changes were done in a gazette notice signed by the Chief Of Staff and Head Of The Public Service, Felix Koskei.
Amos Gathecha has been promoted from Principal Secretary Public Service to Deputy Head of the Public Service while Prot. Edward Kisiang’ani appointed to Senior Advisor & Member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
Kisiang’ani previously served as PS in the State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunications, a position that will now be occupied by Stephen Isaboke State Department for Broadcasting & Telecommunications.
Dr. Jane Kare Imbunya has been nominated as Principal Secretary to the State Department for Public Service & Human Capital Development in the Ministry of Public Service while Regina Akoth Ombam to the State Department for Trade Ministry of Investments, Trade & Industry.
Cyrell Wagunda Odede has been nominated as Principal Secretary to the National Treasury & Economic Planning in the State Department for Public Investments & Assets Management whereas Caroline Wanjiru Karugu has been nominated as Principal Secretary to the State Department for East African Community (EAC) Affairs, Ministry of East African Community (EAC) Affairs & The ASALS & Regional Development
“Dr. Oluga Fredrick Ouma nominated as PS to the State Department for Medical Services Ministry of Health, Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim to the State Department for National Government Co-ordination Office of the Prime Cabinet-Secretary, Judith Naiyai Pareno Justice, to the Human Rights & Constitutional Affairs General & State Department for Justice and Bonface Makokha to the State Department for Economic Planning The National Treasury & Economic Planning,” stated Head Of The Public Service.
“Additionally, Prof. Abdulrazak Shaukat nominated as PS to the State Department for Science, Research & Innovation Ministry of Education, Michael Lenasalon to the State Department for Devolution, Office of the Deputy President, Fikirini Katoi Kahindi Jacobs nominated as PS to the State Department for Youth Affairs Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Carren Ageng’o Achieng nominated as PS to the State Department for Children Welfare Services, Ministry of Labour & Social Protection, Aden Abdi Millah to the State Department for Shipping & Maritime Affairs,Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy & Maritime Affairs,” added the Head Of The Public Service.
On re-assignments, Prof. Julius Bitok has been reassigned to the State Department for Basic Education in the Ministry of Education while Belio Kipsang to the State Department for Immigration & Citizen Services Ministry of Interior & National Administration.
Teresiah Mbaika re-assigned to the State Department for Aviation & Aerospace Development, Ministry of Roads & Transport, Ismael Madey to the State Department for Special Programmes Ministry of Public Service, Human Capital Development & Special Programmes, Harry Kimtai to the State Department for Mining Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy & Maritime Affairs, Elijah Mwangi to the State Departments for Sports Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports
Appointed to serve as Ambassadors, Consuls-General and Deputy Heads of Mission in Kenya’s foreign missions abroad, are; Susan Nakhumicha Wafula as Permanent Representative Permanent Mission of Kenya to the UN Habitat, Nairobi.
Nakhumicha previously served as the Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary before CS Deborah Barasa took over.
James Buyekane Muhati as Consul-General Guangzhou to People’s Republic of China, Abdi Dubat Fidhow as Consul-General, Arusha United Republic of Tanzania, Peter Tum as Ambassador to Kinshasa Democratic Republic of Congo, Alfred Ombudo K’Ombundo as the Deputy Head of Mission Brussels, Belgium and Geoffrey Eyanae Kaituko as the Deputy Head of Mission, Rome Italy.
“His Excellency the President has transmitted the nominations for appointment to the ranks of Principal Secretaries, and the applicable Foreign Service postings to the National Assembly for consideration and approval in fulfillment of the legal requirements set out under our nation’s apex law,” added Felix Koskei.
