The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) is gearing up for its inaugural Sports Day, which will take place this Friday, 18th July,  at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen, Nairobi.

Organized by the PSC Wellness Committee, the event aims to promote physical well-being, strengthen workplace camaraderie, and provide a fun platform for staff to showcase their athletic talents beyond the usual office environment.

After reviewing the preparedness report, the Clerk of the Senate and Secretary to the PSC, Mr. Jeremiah Nyegenye, commended the Wellness Committee, chaired by Mr. Osborn Obayo, for their dedication in organizing what promises to be a memorable day.

“This is commendable work in preparation for the event. I truly appreciate the effort by the team and encourage all staff to come out in large numbers and participate. Let’s make it a day of healthy competition and connection,” Mr. Nyegenye said.

He further emphasized that the day’s activities are not just about winning, but about fostering collaboration, boosting morale, and strengthening the bonds that hold the Secretariat together.

The day will feature a wide range of sporting activities, including athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, netball, darts, swimming, tug of war, field truck games and table tennis, ensuring that there’s something for everyone.

With anticipation building across departments, the Sports Day is expected to ignite friendly rivalry, laughter, and most importantly, a renewed sense of unity among colleagues.

The Clerk Nyegenye emphasized the benefits of Sports as an activity meant to enhance staff productivity through synergy.

“There are more gainful benefits from sports. I therefore encourage all to take part as well as look forward to better physical health, enhanced communication among teams and a networking opportunity to enhance work productivity”, he noted.
