Two More Suspects Arrested in Ongoing Investigation into Hon. Were’s Shooting

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has provided a significant update into the ongoing probe of the tragic fatal shooting of Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were, confirming the arrest of more prime suspects believed to be directly involved in the incident.

In a press statement released by the National Police Service, the newly arrested suspects Edwin Oduor Odhiambo, also known as Abdul Rashid, and Dennis Sewe Munyasi are believed to be directly connected to the killing.

Upon interrogation, the suspects led investigators to Edwin Odhiambo’s residence, where two pistols were recovered: a Retay Falcon and a Sarsilmaz. Also found were nine rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition.

“Two additional suspects have been arrested: Edwin Oduor Odhiambo, also known as Abdul Rashid and Dennis Sewe Munyasi. Upon their arrest, the suspects led the investigators to Edwin Odhiambo’s house, where two pistols, a Retal Falcon and Sarsilmaz, were recovered. Additionally, nine rounds of 9mm calbre ammunition were found,” read the statement.

Further forensic evidence was gathered at the scene, including a bag and footwear matching items worn by one of the suspects during the incident.

All recovered materials have been submitted for forensic examination.
