Drama in Court as siblings meet two months after their mother’s death

Drama ensued at the Narok Law Courts, Wednesday, when two siblings whose father is accused of murdering their mother and had different convictions over the incident, met for the first time since the death of their mother three months ago.

The siblings, both teenagers, have never communicated since the death of their mother, which is alleged to have been caused by their father.

Trouble began when the two, a boy and a girl, took to a corner to discuss their mother’s death, as the two had different versions of circumstances surrounding the death.

While the girl allegedly witnessed their father committing the murder, her younger brother who was away at a relative’s home when the incident happened, thought their mother was killed by thugs in cold blood.

Some of the relatives who were in the court premises tried to dissuade the two from discussing the matter, while others wanted them to spend quality time together discussing the same, hence causing the conflicts.

The police were forced to arrest one Kipngeno Ngetich, allegedly for causing chaos in court during the disagreements, while the two siblings were allocated a police officer to guard them.

Zachariah Ngetich Silatei, who is accused of murdering his wife Judith Resiato on November 1, 2022, will remain in custody for two more weeks, awaiting bail ruling.

He allegedly committed the offense at Kimogoro village  in  Narok South Sub-county and was arrested on November 16th, 2022.

The Senior Counsel, Duncan Ondimu, requested the Court to extend the release- on- bail hearing date, as there was new evidence on the matter.

Narok High Court Judge, Justice Francis Gikonyo, granted the prosecution side more time to submit their statements, pushing the bail hearing date to February 15, 2022.
