A one and a half-year-old girl was today morning found trapped in the rubbles of the Huruma building, four days after the deadly incident.Officials disclosed that the baby girl was found emaciated and is being stabilised at the Kenyatta National Hospital where she was rushed.
The girl was rescued at around 4am and had run out of energy.The building collapsed on Friday night after heavy rains pounded the Capital.Rescue operations by the Kenya Red Cross Society are still continuing and the death toll has since reached 23.
136 residents were rescued from the debris and taken to hospital where they have been receiving treatment.The unfortunate incident, which was highly condemned by leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta, also displaced close to 1000 households.
Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero was put to task to explain how such a sub-standard building got authorization from the County Government.
