Boinett and Kinoti to appear before court on 14 February.

High Court Judge Luka Kimaru has directed the inspector general of police and the director of criminal investigation George Kinoti to appear before him on 14 February to explain why they should not be punished for disobeying court order directing them to release Miguna Miguna.

Despite the move by the ministry of interior security to deport the self-declared national resistant movement General Miguna Miguna to Canada, the case before the high court had to go on as planned.

High Court Judge Luka Kimaru directing that inspector general of police Joseph Boinat and Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti to appear before him on 14th this month to show course as to why they should not suffer the wrath of the court for not complying with its orders that had directed them to release Miguna Miguna on a cash bail.

Justice Kimaru had had earlier ordered that Boinett and Kinoti appear before him but they failed to do so a move that led to public outcry especially from the legal fraternity.

Chief Justice David Maraga has since condemned government officials for disobeying court orders saying to disobey a court order is not only a violation of the constitution but also a dereliction of public duty.

This latest court order came against a backdrop of several other court orders that were ignored by the government.
