Cameroon will take on the defending champions and one of the tournament’s favorites Senegal
in a must-win match to rekindle their hopes of reaching the round of 16 at Stade Charles Konan
Banny de Yamoussoukro on Friday 19 th January 2024 in the ongoing Africa cup of Nations
tournament.
The current holders and five-time champions will duke it out in a battle of Africa footballing
heavyweights in a race to control Group C.
The Lions of Teranga are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions, with four wins
and a draw without conceding a single goal in after their 1-0 loss to Algeria in September 2023
beat Gambia 3-0 in their opening match.
Cameroon on the other hand opened their Pool C campaign with a 1-1 draw against Guinea and
have managed only two wins in their last 10 games, with five draws and three losses.
The Indomitable Lions go to Friday’s clash as the underdogs with both teams having won once
and drawn three in their last five encounters.
What remains to be seen is whether Cameroon’s key players like first-choice goalkeeper Andre
Onana and forward Vincent Aboubakar who was ruled out of their opening due to a minor injury
will feature in Friday’s clash.
