Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers today morning arrested Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei. The officers earlier swooped into his compound in Nandi seeking to arrest him over his ‘alarming’ utterances.
Cherargei had allegedly made hateful speech at a funeral in Nandi on Sunday. According to a video of the event, he allegedly warned that they are profiling people opposed to DP Ruto’s presidential ambitions. He is heard stating that they will deal with them if the DP wins in 2022.
He had earlier been summoned by the DCI to record a statement by Wednesday 21st, to explain what he meant by the remarks.
