Kenyan betting firm, Sportpesa has made history after it reached a 3-year deal with an English Premier League team.
Confirming the Sponsorship deal, English side Hull City said it was the most lucrative in the club’s 112-year history.
“@SportPesa have signed a three-year deal and will have their company logo on all shirts for the 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons,” the club stated on its twitter account.
The EPL team also shared pictures of their new kits complete with the betting firm’s logo.
On his part, Sportpesa Chief Executive Ronald Karauri announced that Hull City popularly known as the Tigers will play in Kenya.
“Part of our deal will see The Tigers be the first English Premier League team ever to come to Kenya to play a select side as part of our campaign towards having Kenya compete in the World Cup for the first time in 2022,” Karauri said.
The betting firm has in the recent past splashed money in sponsorships with the most recent being the historic Sh607 Million Kenya Rugby Union deal.
Sportpesa also sponsors the Kenya Premier League as well as two side, AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.
The English Premier League is the most watched and followed in the world.
