Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as the new Tottenham boss and will now replace Mauricio Pochettino following his sacking on Tuesday following the team dismal performance.

The change has been effected just 5 months after Pochettino guided Tottenham to the champion’s league final where his team lost to Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspurs have secured the services of former Manchester United and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho just a day after the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettinho.

The London based outfit has handed the Portuguese tactician a 4-year contract that will see the special one take charge at the white hart lane until the 2022/2023 season.

Mourinho, who has been out of work since his sacking by Manchester United in December last year, will take over a Spurs side that sits at the 14th position in their premier league and has gone for five premier league matches without a win

Mourinho who had earlier turned down a number of job opportunities including in Portugal and Spain secured three premier league titles and one FA in the two spells at Chelsea before leading united to secure a Europa Cup and an EFL title.

Mourinho has previously taught Porto in Portugal, Inter Milan in Italy and Real Madrid his most successful stint being with inter where he won the champions league title.

Argentine Mauricio Pochettinho suffered the chop despite leading spurs to UEFA champion’s league final where they lost the title to Liverpool last season.

Tottenham will play west ham at the London Stadium in an early Saturday kick-off match.
