Kenyatta lauds growth mobile money services

President Uhuru Kenya  yesterday lauded Kenya’s financial sector for being vibrant and leading the continent in terms of mobile money transactions.

This include Africa’s success story of M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Mobikash, Tangaza among others mobile based transactions. “Kenya’s financial sector is widely recognised for its leadership in the mobile money sector,” he said.

The President who was speaking during the launch of Numismatic Museum in Nairobi, said the museum will give Kenya and future generations a glimpse into the country’s history.

This was during the event to mark CBK’s 50th anniversary dubbed CBK@50. The Numismatic Museum was mooted by CBK in collaboration with the National Museums of Kenya.

Dr Njoroge, the CBK governor who spoke during the event said CBKat50 events over the last years have been anchored on the youth, adding that the aspiration of the bank of last resort has been to be a modern, world class Central Bank.
