Man Charged with Felony and 5 Other Counts

Eugine Ouma, a 26-year-old man, appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Hon. Robinson Ondieki on charges of conspiring to commit a felony while armed with an imitation firearm.

“Eugine Ouma was charged with an offense to commit a felony contrary to Section 308 (1) of the Penal Code,” stated the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that on May 21, 2024, at the Machakos County Bus terminus in Nairobi, Ouma was found in possession of an imitation firearm, suggesting an intention to commit a felony, specifically robbery.

Additionally, the ODPP stated that Eugine faced five more charges, which included possession of an imitation firearm namely a homemade firearm, possession of one 9mm calibre ammunition without a firearm certificate, possession of public stores, namely a military jungle hat of the Kenya Defense Forces and possession of public stores, namely two pairs of military jungle uniforms, two military belts, and a pair of high ankle military boots of the Kenya Defense Forces suspected to be stolen property.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.100, 000.

The pre-trial of the case is scheduled for June 6, 2024.
