MCA kicked out of committees over Kidero ouster motion

CORD coalition has made good its threat of disciplining one of its members for sponsoring an impeachment against Governor Evans Kidero.

Viwandani Member of County Assembly (MCA) Samuel Nyangwara was on Wednesday kicked out of three powerful business committees following his motion.

In a notification sent to House Speaker by Majority Leader Elias Otieno, Mr Ngangwara was ejected from the health services committee, business committee, and trade, tourism and cooperatives committee.

“I do hereby discharge Nyangwara from the herein listed County Assembly Committees with immediate effect,” read a memo addressed to Speaker Alex Magelo.

Additionally, the ODM disowned the member claiming he was not mandated to transact business on behalf of the party.

“His recent action to impeach our ODM Governor Kidero has not been taken lightly and we have no other option but to suspend him indefinitely from the party. Such uncalled for behaviour will not be tolerated,” declared Nairobi branch Chairperson George Aladwa.

Mr Nyngwara has sparked violent engagements in the assembly after introducing the motion to eject Kidero out of office a week ago.

The House, on two occasions, has been thrown into fracas with leaders allied to opposition objecting tabling of the bill.
