Mohamed Salah name is prominently missing from the shortlist for UEFA’s Champions League players of the season. The Egyptian Giant failed to make the cut perhaps due to his not very up to standard performance this season.
Even Salah’s score of the opening goal from the penalty spot that saw the Reds beat premier league rivals, Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Madrid final in June, he still didn’t make the cut.
Sadio Mane is up for the best forward award alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Liverpool players on the list are Alisson Becker shortlisted for best goalkeeper; Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are up for best defender. Reds skipper, Jordan Henderson is nominated for best midfielder.
