Narok County Govt. sets aside 40M to aid old and vulnerable families acquire NHIF cards

Narok county government has set aside 40 million which will be used end of this month to register old age people in Narok County for NHIF Cards. This is to ensure old persons are not detained in hospitals due to huge bills if one is admitted.

Speaking in Nkorento when he visited some elders, Narok Governor Samuel Tunai said his government is committed to the elderly since they have done a lot in the county. He issued them with 2 million shillings which will be used to educate their children’s to shoulder the burden from them since some are too old even to understand the importance of education.

He said the decision was informed by the fact that elderly persons are more likely to get sick as the age progresses.
