Migori  Governor  Zachary  Okoth  Obado has been released on bail. Obado, who  was arrested in connection with the murder of Sharon Otieno has been released on a 5 million cash bail and a surety of 2 million.  The co-accused suspects  in  the  case,  Michael  Oyamo, Obado ’s personal assistant and Caspal Obiero, a clerk working for  the  Migori County  Government  have however  been  denied  a  bail by lady justice Jesse  Lesit.

Governor Obado has been behind bars for one month and three days after being denied a bail  twice. Oyamo and Obiero will remain  at the industrial area remand cells after the court established that there is no sufficient evidence to release them on bond.

Obado has also been ordered to deposit his passports, and not to travel 20km away from Migori. He has also been directed not to intimidate witnesses in the case and not to contact the family of Sharon Otieno.
