Raila In Wajir For Recruitment Rally

Raila Odinga arrived in Wajir in the company of Azimio leaders for a recruitment drive aimed at boosting figures in the ODM party.

The ODM party leader was welcomed by Wajir’s governor Ahmed Jiir who was elected via the ODM party. Raila rubbished claims of his coalition being divided with his bid for the AU seat. He assured Wajir residents that he is here to stay and will be available should his support be required.

He assured his supporters that a party with a strong foundation like that of ODM could not be disintegrated in his absence. “Niko hapa na Governor Oparanya, Na Ali Hassan Joho, Watashikana pamoja- I am here with Oparanya and Joho, they will work together.”

He assured his supporters that the media ‘s portal of his party experiencing internal unrest was merely propaganda. Raila stressed that whomever he appoints to lead, the rest of the party members will collaborate harmoniously.

Raila urged Wajir residents to register as members of ODM noting that the recruitment exercise will be active throughout March. He also announced ODM party elections set for April after the conclusion of Ramadhan.

Several ODM party leaders including Wycliffe Oparanya, Junet Mohammed, and Hassan Joho openly expressed their support for their party leader in his AU bid. Addressing the gathering in Wajir, Junet Mohammed said that despite Raila’s bid for AUC chairmanship, ODM party leaders will remain united.

He also expressed his confidence in the ODM party forming the government in the 2027 elections. ” Mimi niko na hakika, ODM will form government in 2027, Inshallah,” said Junet.

Junet assured Wajir residents that with the leadership of deputy party leaders and the minority leader, ODM will steer its course.
