The DP William Ruto has asked Kanu’s Kuresoi South MP candidate to step down and back his Jubilee Party rival.

Kanu, whose leader is Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto to get another five years in office.

Bruce Chitalu, a former presidential escort officer, has been termed a threat for the ruling coalition in the August election.

Ruto said this in Keringet town on Saturday.

Chitalu was identified by name by the President after he landed at Moi Amalo Secondary School.

He will face off with Joseph Tonui of Jubilee and Zakayo Cheruiyot of Chama Cha Mashinani

The former officer is the son to Chepalungu MP Paul Bii.

He confirmed several Jubilee leaders have asked him to bow out of the race but said he was determined to win.
