Sharing of Netflix passwords to get cancelled come March 2023

Giant streaming website Netflix is expected to clamp down on password sharing in March this year. Sharing its earnings report to shareholders, Netflix explained that 2022 was a tough year that saw its customer base fall by 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of the year.

The streaming website also added that sharing of accounts takes place in more than 100 Million households which undermines their ability to invest and improve.

Subscribers who want to share their passwords with people outside their households will have to pay an additional fee to allow their families or friend’s use their account.

The new system could potentially put an end to logging on your accounts in multiple devices or sharing a single subscription in a number of households.
