Tana River protests, Locals want governor, deputy governor and local MP arrested

Business came to a standstill in the busy Hola Town as hundreds of Tana River County residents held demonstrations protesting failure by the government to arrest Garissa Governor Ali Korane, his Deputy Abdi Dagane and Fafi MP Abdikarim Osman for allegedly inciting violence over the boundary.

Carrying placards the residents took to the streets of Hola Town from Bayusuf Grounds to the town centre up to the county commissioner’s office, governor’s office to serve their memo demanding the immediate arrest of the three leaders.

They accused the leaders of stating inflammatory statements which could lead to bloodshed over the boundary issue.
