People living along Ruiru to githunguri road have termed the road as a curse to them instead of being happy that it’s next to them. This follows milliards of hardships caused to them ever since the road started being constructed ten years ago and has never been finished. Currently living next to the road has made life unbearable due to unending clouds of dust caused by passing vehicles on the road. Mr. Ngere Muchai a resident of Kanjai in Githunguri said people have gone to nearly all relevant offices to get help on the completion of the road to no avail and its seems nothing is being done to alleviate their misery. Jane Siamanda Kairu a house said she has been unable to keep the dust out of her house that fills everywhere including bedrooms. The dust is so much that nobody is spared including children in classes, shopping centers, churches and anything that is along the road. They said it would be easier for the constructor to be spilling water throughout the road three times a day to contain the dust if it was impossible to complete it.
