Voice activated version of Flappy Bird go viral

If you thought Flappy Bird was frustratingly addictive, you’re going to love this voice-activated version.

Eight Note is rapidly going viral across Asia, with thousands of players literally screaming at their phones.

The game sounds pretty simple. The character has to jump across blocks and avoid falling.

The only catch? The character’s jumps are controlled by the volume of your voice.

It’s pretty great to watch.

A small murmur will cause the character to shuffle slightly, whereas a shrill scream will result in a huge leap.

The game has two modes: Endless and Stages — which are pretty self-explanatory.

The game has gained popularity across China where it is known as 八分音符酱! 不要停, or translated simply as “Eight Note! Don’t stop!”

Some claim the game was originally developed by a Japanese maker, although the app developer listed on the App Store appears to be Chinese.

The app is going viral, in part because of its hilarious gameplay videos
