Wanyama arrives ahead of Mozambique friendly

Tottenham midfielder  and Kenyan player, Victor Mugumbi Wanyama has arrived in Kenya ahead of the international break.

Wanyama is expected to join the stars in their camp today as they prepare for friendly games against Mozambique and Liberia before the players on international break travel back for professional games.

Harambee stars will play their first game against Mozambique on 12th before testing their skills with Liberia on 15th November.

Mozambique players, on the hand, are expected to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport today in the evening.

Anthony Akumu, David Owini and Jesse Were, who will  join them later on since their team, Zesco United will be playing against Nchanga Rangers.

On 7th last this month, Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi  named a provisional squad of 12 foreign based players to link up with local players in the camp ahead of their friendly matches against Mozambique and Liberia.

Coach Stanley Okumbi will be without five key players for Harambee Stars fixture against Mozambique scheduled for this Saturday, November 12, 2016.

Ayub Timbe, Allan Wanga, Musa Mohammed, David Ochieng, and Paul Were have all been ruled out of the weekend fixture.

“Timbe is out injured and as such is not available for selection on Saturday, while we have allowed Were and Ochieng to honor upcoming club assignments, on their club’s requests.”

Okumbi added, “Wanga has not reported to camp, but has since requested that, he sits out the upcoming fixture due to personal engagements, while Musa was released yesterday after it became apparent that his passport would not be ready before Saturday.”
