Over 1.5m candidates sit or exams

A whooping one and a half million students will sit their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations this year.

The 2016 figure makes it the highest number of KCSE examination candidates recorded 1989.

According to the Kenya National Examinations Council, 78,886 more candidates were registered this year compared to 2015.

The normal routine of exams has also changed this year with the candidates  set to begin the examinations with a Mathematics paper.

English, Chemistry, Kiswahili, Home Science, Art and Design and Building Construction are among other papers expeced to follow later today.

Last year, the results of 5,000 candidates were cancelled over malpractices.
