A group of fourteen (14) students, Marsabit Boys High School, were earlier on Wednesday evening arrested and taken to Marsabit Police Station.
The 14 were cornered by teachers and school workers, and arrested for attempted arson attack targeting the science laboratories.
The staff, teachers and workers, said they noticed flames from the laboratories after the students lit a fire at around 6:00pm on the same day.
Confirming the arrest, Marsabit OCPD, Ben Kogo said that ten of the 14 students were all newcomers who had joined the school on transfer from other schools.
“These students could have been expelled from their previous schools due to indiscipline cases,” said Ben Kogo.
Kago investigation to the matter had been launched by police before they were arraigned in court. It is in the same county where five girls from Moi Girls secondary school went missing after the burning of one of the dormitories in the learning institution.
Cases of arson have been rampantly increasing with various people calling for help to establish the cause. The deputy president, William Ruto last week asked teachers, leaders and church leaders together with parents to support government.
