Ms Clare Adindo Odhiambo, a 20-year-old lady whose TikTok photos were circulated with a caption that she had been abducted (allegedly by the DCI), has presented herself at DCI Offices in Kibra.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Ms. Clare clarified that despite her photos being used, her name wasn’t Naomi, as alleged by the author of the misinformation, and that she had neither been abducted nor arrested by police.
“The DCI wishes to clarify further that abduction and/or kidnapping is a serious crime punishable by law and the DCI does not condone any form of abductions or kidnappings as these actions violate fundamental human rights and undermine the rule of law,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations further said that its dedicated to investigating all allegations of such crimes thoroughly and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
The DCI also emphasized that it is essential for the community to work together in reporting any suspicious activities to aid in the fight against crime and protect the rights of all citizens.
This information comes after several Kenyans were abducted recently by armed men within the country.
Among the missing persons are Peter Muteti and Billy Mwangi who were kidnapped by four armed men in Uthiru and Embu respectively while Benard Kavuli was also abducted at a petrol station in Ngong by four armed men with a white Probox for his X post that was associated with the 2007/2008 Post election violence.
