3 friends who died after being knocked down by a Garissa bound bus in kivandini shopping centre in Yatta a fortnight ago have been buried in Kangundo.The 3 were headed for a job in Yatta when the fatal accident happened where two of them died on the spot while the third one succumbed while undergoing treatment in matuu level 4 hospital.
A sombre mood filled the Kainga stadium in Kangundo where a combined requiem Mass was done for the 3.The 3 name late Raphael kitundu musyoka,late Leonard kimeu nzioka and late Dickson makau ndambuki were headed for timber cutting job in matuu when they met their untimely death.
Leaders said it was sad for the untimely death for the young lives.Machakos Women Rep Joyce kamene Kasimbi urged the Government to do a speedy investigations to the latter and justice be given to the families as they had left behind young families with all of them having kids in school and they were the breadwinners.
Joyce added that it was sad to see this hardworking young men to die like that yet they met the untimely death on their way to work healthy and strong yet as a country we are going through hard corona times.She also called on Kenyans to be careful of Corona pandemic and follow the government directives as the ministry of health has stipulated saying kenyans have been ignoring keeping social distance in such like events.
Also present was Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule who said that it has been rumoured that the cause of the accident was a mechanical fault but its known that all PSVs undergo inspections before getting to the road.He added that it was sad to lose 3 men at once from Kangundo and called on the government through the traffic department to do speedy investigations for the truth to be known and for the families to get justice.
Also present was Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama and other leaders from the region
The requiem Mass was done at the Kainga Stadium and later each family carried their loved one and was laid to rest at their specific homes
