A total of 35 people from Kapkikoro village in Soin/Sigowet sub-county, Kericho County, who were rushed to hospital after food poisoning have been discharged.

Kericho County Referral Hospital deputy medical superintendent, Dr. Jane Tum, said the facility had received a total of 38 patients (10 males and 28 females) over food poisoning.

Tum called on members of the public to always eat inspected meat.

Those who had been admitted are said to have bought  fowl inspected meat from a villager who slaughtered a goat that was suspected to be sick.

The victims complained of stomach pains, vomiting and diarrhea which prompted the county government to dispatch two ambulances to ferry them to the hospital.

Sabina Sambu, Clinician at the casualty said three patients, a male, female and one boy are still under care at the hospital.

Sambu said most of the patients were experiencing diarrhea and vomiting which resulted in dehydration.
