The Society of Clerks-at-the-Table (SoCATT) Africa Region is currently hosting the 2024 Professional Development Seminar (PDS) at the East Africa Community Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, that started on May 20th to May 23rd.
The 8th Professional Development Seminar, aptly themed “Re-Positioning Parliamentary Administration in the Era of Evidence and Modernisation,” aims to equip Clerks and Secretaries of Legislatures and Parliaments to reposition themselves and adequately tap into potential benefits of institutionalizing evidence-based practices and technology-driven modernization and reform, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and contributing to national development.
The SoCATT Africa Region Steering Committee held a preparatory meeting ahead of the planned Seminar yesterday.
The preparations for the 2024 SoCATT Africa Region Professional Development Seminar (PDS) and the proposed programming framework for the 2024 SoCATT Africa Annual General Meeting in South Africa, scheduled for August 2024, were reviewed by the Steering Committee, led by Ms. Lydia Kandetu, Vice Chairperson of the SoCATT Africa Region Steering Committee and Clerk of the National Council, Parliament of Namibia.
Today, on 21st May 2024 Hon. Deodatus Mwanyika, the Presiding Officer of the Parliament of Tanzania, will officially open the 2024 Professional Development Seminar (PDS).
