Wafula Chebukati approved as IEBC chair to replace Hassan

The search for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chair has come to an end today following the parliament decision to approve Wafula Chebukati.

The Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee approved Wafula Chebukati to head  IEBC following the removal of Isaack Hassan from the post together with his officials.

On the other hand, Eliud Wabukala has been approved by the parliament of Kenya as Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) boss.

Mr. Wanyonyi Wafula Chebukati will be joined by other six commissioners to head the most politically watched body.

Dr. paul Kibiwott Kurgat (Ambassador), Mr. Boya Molu, Professor Abdi Guliye, Dr. Kwamboka Roselyn Akombe, Ms. Margaret Wanjala Mwachanya and Ms. Consolata Nkatha Bucha Maina will join Chebukati in IEBC as commissioners.

The retired Anglican Church had been nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta to head the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) this is after the resignation of  Philip Kinisu as the chair.
