The revolution in academic sector keeps moving on with the government directing universities to establish and implement an electronic results transmission system.
This comes after Commission for University Education (CUE) ordered the universities to meet the directive within six months to stem the cases of unaccountability during the education cycle and graduations.
The audit by CUE was commissioned by the Ministry of Education.
The report indicated that in some universities there were missing marks, delayed completion rates, and unaccountability for students at all levels.
“During the 2017 graduation cycle, all universities will be expected to ensure that all their students receive transcripts and results prior to graduating,” directed the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Dr Fred Matiang’i.
“In order to achieve this, each university is required to establish and implement an effective electronic student and data management system within the next six months.”
The CS warned that universities that fail to comply with this requirement will be severely sanctioned, including possibly losing of their university status.
