Striker less Manchester united head to Chelsea for unlikely FA cup quarters win

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney look set to miss Manchester United’s FA Cup quarter-final at Chelsea tonight.

Rashford is missing through illness, while captain Rooney is reported to have picked up a knock in a training collision with Phil Jones on Sunday.

Martial is also out injured and the trio will join top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the sidelines, with the Swede serving a three-match domestic suspension.

The news leaves United with no recognised strikers in their travelling party, and Mourinho with a huge selection headache as he bids to win his second piece of silverware this season.

“We are happy with the trophy, a trophy is always important,” Mourinho said.

“The reality is that many other teams in England are going to finish the season without a trophy and we have one and a half, the (League) Cup and the Community Shield.

“That’s good but I would lie if I say I think it is enough for us.”
