The ODM National Elections Board has dismissed claims that some members are interfering with the ongoing primaries. This followed claims that the members have favoured some aspirants by helping them acquire nomination certificates.
NEB member Robert Arunga on Wednesday dismissed allegations that some aspirants have bought the certificates. He maintained that NEB is composed of members with integrity and cannot be compromised to rig in aspirants.
Arunga also said they have secured official the ballot papers being dispatched across the country. “These rumours are spread by mischievous characters. Our ballot papers are managed and marked by NEB.”
“You can distinguish between real and fake ballot papers,” he said.
This was after reports that some 4,000 ballot papers were found in Kajiado East constituency.
“We assure the nation and our members that no certificates have been issued up to now.”
Arunga said ODM is ready for nominations slated for Kisii county on Friday, April 21.
“We will also conclude polls in Kakamega and Coast at stations where the exercise did not take place or were cancelled.”
