Inter Milan linked with Chelsea coach: refuse to comment on Conte approach reports

Inter Milan have refused to comment on reports linking Chelsea boss Antonio Conte with their vacant managerial role.

The Italian club sacked Stefano Piolo on Tuesday after just six months in charge.

The 51-year-old had replaced Frank de Boer in November, and was their ninth manager since Jose Mourinho left in summer 2010.

Youth team coach Stefano Vecchi has been appointed in the interim until the end of the season, but reports claim that Conte will be approached in the summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Chelsea boss is growing frustrated over a perceiving lack of promised funds, and will be offered a contract worth £250,000 a week to return to Serie A.

Inter are currently seventh in the league, but hope that increased investment from new Chinese owners, Suning Group, can convince Conte to spearhead their return to the summit of the game.

The BBC report that Inter have refused to comment on the reports.
