Residents of Mwingi town have decried rising cases of insecurity which have befallen the town in resent past, this is after a body of a 30 year old Woman was discovered in one of the lodgings at Mavoko area in Mwingi town.
According to the caretaker of the lodging, the deceased, Mawia Musili alias “Blackie” entered a room with unidentified man at around 1:00AM and never knew what time the man left until her body was discovered with a bed sheet wrapped around her neck indicating that she might have been struggled.
Mwingi police led by the OCS arrived at the scene and collected the body and took it to Mwingi Level IV Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Beatrice Musee, an eyewitness said that Mwingi town has in the recent past witnessed rising cases of murder with most affected being women and urged for immediate action to be taken in order boost security.
Mwingi Central MCA Mary Kanini who was also at the scene, decried rising cases of insecurity in Mwingi town, calling upon security officials to be more vigilant in order to curb the vice.
Madam Kanini urged women in the town to be cautious when dealing with strangers and to fully identify people before deciding to go out with them.
