The body of a youth was found dumped by the roadside facing downwards at Kiamokama in Masaba South,Kisii county initially baffling residents wanting to identify him.
Eye witnesses said the deceased’s in a white T-shirt and a jeans trouser had his hands tied backwards with panga cuts on the neck and chest.
In the past several people had been murdered in the area with two bodies being dumped next to the local Administration Police Post.
When police arrived at Kiamokama, to remove the body ,the deceased was identified as John, a grandson to mzee ,Morris Nyakierema, a famous retail businessman at the trading centre.
It later turned out that the deceased who hailed from the area was a trader at Keroka town along the Kisii/Nyamira counties border.
An assistant chief only referred to as a Mr. Basweti claimed the deceased might have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped in the area.
The administrator, however, could not link the deceased’s killing to his recent implication in criminal activities in the area which had led to his arrest and release.
Those interviewed including his maternal uncle condemned the murder decrying insecurity in the area.
