Former Kilifi County deputy governor Kenneth Kamto has appeared in a Shanzu court in Mombasa to face charges of fraud.
The former DG and his co-accused Kennedy Ngala are accused of obtaining money by false presence contrary to section 313 of the penal code.
The duo who appeared before Shanzu senior principal magistrate Diana Mochache denied the charge against them.
According to the charge sheet the duo on the 27th January 2018 at Maasai Resort in Kisauni Sub-county of Mombasa County with intent to defraud obtained money from the complainant Lawrence Mochama Omoti .
The Chartge sheet read that the former DG Kenneth Kamto obtained Kshs 700,000 while his co accused Kennedy Ngala obtained Kshs 400,000 from Mochama Omoti.
The Money was obtained as a down payment a down payment for a tender of Kshs 3.5 Million of drilling a bore hole.
The two were released by the magistrate on a bond of Sh 50,000 and will return to court in a two weeks time for the mention of their case.
