Security beefed-up in areas prone to insecurity in Laikipia

Security has been beefed-up in areas prone to insecurity in Laikipia West as the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) kicks off on Tuesday.
Speaking while overseeing the distribution of Examination materials in Nyahururu town today morning, area Deputy County Commissioner Ms Flora Mworoa said that enough security personnel have been deployed in the areas.
“We have deployed enough security officers in areas that have been experiencing cases of insecurity.We have also establish new police posts that are being manned by Anti-Stock theft police officers to ensure that exams run smoothly,” she said.
The DCC said the area most of which that have been previously hit by spate of insecurity and banditry attacks include Kamwenje, Matuiku, Wangwaci among others parts in Ng’arua.
“I would like to assure candidates, parents, teachers and all resident that security has been tightened,” she added.
Ms Mworoa added that the government has put in place enough means of transport to ensure that examination material is ferried to the centres in time.
