NAROK WOMEN REPRESENTATIVE CALLS ON THE BBI REPORT TO FACTOR IN THE NATIONAL AFFIRMATIVE ACTION FUNDS FOR THE SAKE OF DEVELOPMENT

Narok Women representative Soipan Kudate has expressed that the Building Bridges initiative report should give an opportunity for the National affirmative action funds to be restored for the sake of development. Soipan who is the patron at the National government affirmative action funds expressed that women representatives have been using the funds to support youth and women in society as well as bursaries for needy students. The women representative who was speaking in Narok while distributing sanitary towels to schools and cheques to various women and youth groups, said the kitty has been playing a huge role opposing the Building bridges initiative report for scraping off the women representative post. She expressed that if the seat is scrapped off then the National government affirmative action fund would be lost.

Soipan insisted that Narok county has already benefited from the 16 million shillings adding that the kitty needs to be restored in the Building Bridges initiative report.
The Patron maintained that the funds have greatly contributed to the lives of persons with disabilities, women and the youth as well as paying for bursaries.

At the same time Soipan called on the local administration to move with speed and arrest men who impregnated school girls. She urged teenage mothers to get back to school and get educated calling on the national government to provide adequate classes as the rainy season has kicked in making it a challenge to learning activities.
The women representative further called on the government to provide sanitary pads to all schools in a similar manner as they provide condoms to public institutions.
