PRO-UHURU MT KENYA ALLIES VOW TO TAME RUTO, FOLLOWING HUMILIATION IN GATUNDU

A section of Central Kenya leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to tame Deputy President William Ruto over his continued disrespect to the Head of state, even in his Gatundu backyard.

The leaders led by Kieni MP Kanini Kega, Kiambu Governor James Nyoro’s political advisor David Ngari Gakuyo and a section of youth leaders in Gatundu and Kiambu at large said Ruto and his Tangatanga brigade had taken the disrespect too far by inciting Mount Kenya residents against their leader.

They said Ruto, through his allies led by Gatundu North MP Moses Kuria and his Mathira counterpart Rigathi Gachagua had crossed the line, and soon he will find himself out of government.

This was occasioned by a mass walkout of mourners in a burial ceremony of Thika MP Patrick Wainaina’s mother Mary Wambui in Gatundu North Sub co as Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya began reading the President’s speech in the presence of the DP.

Kuria had said it was disrespectful to the DP for Munya to give the speech, leading to the mass walkout.

“The DP is pushing us too far and we will tame him. How can you incite mourners to walk out when their leader’s speech is being read? Can such a thing ever happen in his backyard. How does he intend to become the president in 2022 with such disrespect?” posed Kega.

He said they plan to have a motion to impeach the DP after the passing of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), saying they have the numbers to easily remove him from government.

He said they were in the process of planning for a Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting of pro-Uhuru MPs where they will definitely plan to oust the DP.

“As pro-Uhuru MPs will hold our PG and among the matters to be deliberated on is BBI and impeaching the DP. We have the numbers and it is only a matter of time,” said Kega.

Ngare said Central Kenya was firmly behind the President and were waiting for him to give them directions on who to support in 2022.

He said some MPs in the region are being used to cause divisions and enmity among residents and were misleading residents against passing the BBI despite knowing the opportunities it created for the central region.

“We are on top of things. The President only held one meeting in Sagana and everyone in the Tangatanga brigade is scampering around. Let’s first pass the BBI, and Mout Kenya will be speaking in one voice,” he said.

The youth leaders led by Patron James Githinji said they will not allow politicians to disrespect the president in his backyard. They accused Kuria of leading the political onslaught knowing very well that were it not for Uhuru, he could not have been MP for Gatundu. He at the same time called on leaders from the region who were eying the top seat to shelve their ambitions, saying their only intention is to split the Mt. Kenya vote.
