Residents from Baringo County will have to wait longer to get clean water, this is after multi-billion dam projects continue to delay owing to Covid-19 and infrastructural challenges.
Speaking while touring Chemosusu Dam in Eldama Ravine, Water PS Joseph Irungu said the completion of the dam was long overdue but Covid-19 which broke out last year affected the completion of the dam.
He also said conflicts among government ministries affected the ongoing distribution of the water close to the people revealing that the dam was 95% complete.
The team of principal Secretaries visited Baringo with President Delivery Unit to inspect ongoing government projects.
Kirandich phase two have stalled for two years since it started with government saying the contractor withdrew from site pushing time for people of Baringo County to get water even as thousands continue to suffer.
