Health ministry CS Susan Mochache has assured people targeted for covid-19 vaccine that it was safe with no side-effects complaints received since its debut administration last week.
Speaking at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital when the county rolled out the inoculation, the CS explained the exercise was proceeding smoothly and that it was the sixteenth among others
She clarified although front-line workers were the first beneficiaries, non medical hospital workers should also be included.
The CS expressed concern over the rate at which covid-19 third wave was raging adding statistics on the new cases was worrying.
According to Mochache, vaccinating front-line workers will protect patients affected by the wave when they sought mediation at the health facilities .
Governor James Ongwae disclosed that 30% of the population was earmarked for the immunization and enumerated the beneficiary segments from the 4,500 doses received.
He called for cooperation from the residents and petitioned president Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure the country received adequate vaccines for citizens.
