FORMER PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT PETER KENNETH WANTS TECHNOCRATS TO AVOID SUCCESSION POLITICS

The endorsement of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to vie for Presidency has attracted criticism from political players who include former Presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth.

Matiang’i was endorsed by his transport counterpart James Macharia during his Murang’a tour to launch development projects. However, Kenneth who worships at ACC/S church at Kigumo Constituency said people who are not elected can’t be bestowed the mandate to guide the electorate on political directions.

He reiterated his stand that nothing prevents Mt. Kenya region from producing the President but warned leaders from dividing the region in Mt Kenya East, Mt Kenya West or Mt Kenya North. He spoke in relation to installation of Speaker Justin Muturi as Mt Kenya’s region’s spokesperson.

Mp’s Wangari Mwaniki (Kigumo) and Nduati Ngugi (Gatanga) said Kenneth was the most experienced and humble leader who is suitable to continue with the legacy projects initiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The ferocious scramble to succeed Uhuru emerges amongst government supporters Kenneth versus Matiang’i axis exposes factions in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s inner circle. Some of Uhuru’s allies including David Murathe, Peter Kenneth and Maina Kamanda had backed Odinga’s Presidency.
