MACHAKOS NURSES PROTEST PPE SHORTAGE AFTER THE DEATH OF THEIR COLLEAGUE

Machakos level 5 nurses have have protested over what they termed as insufficient personal protective equipment (PPE) after the death of their colleague.

This comes just a few days after the death of a nurse from the same hospital, Frankline Muturi, who succumbed to Covid-19 on Saturday over what they say was caused due to lack of oxygen​.

Addressing the media after the nurses went back to work, Health CECM Dr. Ancent Kituku revealed that the nurse passed on on Saturday and began complaining of being unwell last week Monday.

The health CEC termed the third wave of covid-19 as lethal​, urging locals to strictly adhere to covid-19 protocols. He further revealed that up to date, Machakos county had registered 4,091 cases among them 125 deaths involving two health workers.​
