Posta rangers has been disqualified by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) from featuring in the ongoing GOtv Shield Cup tournament, under basis of fielding an ineligible player during their Monday match against Timsales FC.
The federation has quickly nullified the results to see Naivasha-based Timsales into the round of 32 while Rangers become eliminated.
John Nairuka was fielded during GO TV round of 64 match against Timsales FC, a match that ended 4-1 with Nairuka pocketing a brace.
“Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has with immediate effect disqualified Posta Rangers FC in the ongoing GOtv Shield tournament for fielding an ineligible player in their round of 64 match against Timsales,” a statement from FKF read in part.
“The move is in line with FKF’s new guidelines on player transfers and registrations that came into force on June 1, 2016,” added the statement.
John Nairuka was reported by Ulinzi Stars to have left them for Rangers and the same was confirmed by the mailmen and pundits will now wait to see how Rangers will respond to the unfortunate decision.

Posta is the first club to be affected by the new rules that has seen the federation centralise all player transfers and registration as required by FIFA.
