COVID FUND BOARD EXTENDS SUPPORT TO MISSION HOSPITALS.

The Covid Fund Board has extended its support to mission hospitals for the next 18 months to curb the spread of Covid 19 virus.

Equity bank CEO James Mwangi, who is the chair to the board, said a total of 600 faith based hospitals were shortlisted and 60 of them qualified for the support.

Mwangi said they are delivering PPEs to the hospitals to ease the burden of delivering health services to the members of the public and to protect doctors, nurses and front-line workers from getting infected with the virus.

He said that it is worrying to learn that the fourth wave might occur this month, which has been predicted by the scientists, saying that it has not only led to a health crisis but has also affected their customers.
The Equity CEO said the bank set aside sh.1.1 billion to support the community fight the virus and teamed up with the covid board which donated sh. 300 million to the kitty, totaling to sh. 1.4 billion.
Mwangi was speaking at AIC Litein Mission Hospital in Kericho County when he handed over the PPEs to the hospital.
