The disabled in Kisii South have cried foul claiming the two levels of government had discriminated against them.
This comes amid regular complaints from the physically challenged from the larger Gusii region over their inability to access disbursal funds from the national government.
Kisii South disabled persons chairman, Peter Ongwenyi said the members were suffering especially at this time when covid19 pandemic raged.
According to the chairman they had inadequate food, protective gear against the coronavirus and financial support.
Despite the fact that the disabled docket was under the national government,Ongwenyi accused the area devolved unit and National Affirmative Action Fund for ignoring them.
The disabled threatened to register with parties whose manifestos will cater for them in the next political dispensation.
Economic empowerment opportunities, however, existed in the constitution where the disabled persons were considered in credit facilities’ award, public service employment and cash transfer programme.
