Mount Kenya risks being out of government for the next 100 years if their leaders continue disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta, Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti has said. While referring to Deputy President William Ruto’s allies who have declared their political support for his 2022 presidential bid, Ndeti said she was surprised that the Presidency was from Central but they don’t respect it. Ndeti addressed mourners during a burial service of the late Luka Kisavi Munguti at Mwala in Machakos County.
She added, “I am surprised by these our in – laws, you have gotten the presidency seat many years. Now you have the seat with you but you don’t respect it. If you joke, you will stay over 100 years out of government. Continue joking the way you are joking, we better tell you the truth.” She said the leaders backing Ruto’s presidential bid were being driven by their stomachs hence had no citizens’ interests. Ndeti said Ukambani had only one political leader and region’s kingpin Kalonzo Musyoka.
She said the Kamba nation is united behind Kalonzo rebuking those who claim there was political disunity in the region. “We in Ukambani we have one leader and Kambas are speaking in one voice. Those speaking in contrary voices are few. As Kambas we are behind His Excellency Kalonzo Musyoka and he is working with President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Ndeti said.
She said outsiders shouldn’t get to the region with the intent of dividing them as a community.
“People shouldn’t come here to incite us against our in-laws, telling us that development was taken to Kisumu and we didn’t get development projects as a region like the Nyanza region did. We have our own ongoing development projects courtesy of the Jubilee administration,” Ndeti said. Ndeti criticized leaders whom she said claimed that Kamba region had less votes that can’t promote Kalonzo to presidency. I want to tell them that those talking that way should know that Kamba votes are more than theirs.
She added, “I am telling them that their votes are about 1.3 million while ours, 1.3 million, we haven’t counted other Kambas and our people who haven’t been registered as voters by the IEBC yet. Ndeti said their children shouldn’t be given wheelbarrows in exchange for votes. “You shouldn’t come here to tell us that you are giving our children wheelbarrows. We can’t allow our children to be given wheelbarrows.” She said Kenyans should pray and ask God to come himself and not send anybody in this country because where this country is headed, it is going to the dungeons due to some leaders. “People are just thinking about themselves and not about children. When we have campaigns, young people are given alcohol to drink and cause chaos. Parents should be vigilant so that their children aren’t misused this time round,” Ndeti said.
