The hearing of the Matungu by-election petition at the high court in kakamega has begun with the legal team of ODM candidate David Were advancing the reasons as to why they want the election of Hon. Peter Nabulindo as Matungu MP nullified, with claims of the polling exercise and the tallying process being marred by irregularities that eventually made the outcome of the election illegitimate. Amani National Congress (ANC) candidate Peter Nabulindo was declared the winner on Friday morning to trounce his closest challenger, David Were of ODM, who had 10,500 votes after the results from the 116 polling stations were declared.
